  We made the mistake of booking a wine tasting tour with Backroads Wine Tour. They were supposed to pick us up at 10:15am. At 10:30am Jerry called to tell us that his driver got sick (something we did not believe to be true) and he had to cancel the tour.
  
  To add insult to injury, Jerry did not seem to be genuinely sorry for the inconvenience at all and was almost mocking. He did offer us a half-day tour, but we did not feel this was an appropriate service recovery and did not want to have anything to do with this company at that point.
  
  When we mentioned to our concierge and operators of wineries we ended up visiting on our own what had happened, they all said they were not surprised and that Backroads Wines Tours is known for randomly canceling tours and leaving visitors stranded.
